Dan King an amusing former fellow coworker of mine
Dave Barry: Dave is a columnist for the Miami Herald, and has some hilarious takes on the common world.
Strong Bad: A hilarious man that defies all description-so I won't try to describe him.
Strange Brew: One of my favorite movies of all time. Not for everybody, but a great movie nonetheless.
They Might Be Giants: Probably my favorite band of all time. An intellectual and eccentric group. No other group has written about such topics as bangs, mammals, the sun, James K. Polk, James Ensor, palindromes, and a night light. My sister once told me that their songs are all about nothing-when in fact I've never heard of anything farther from the truth. There's symbolism in every song, and references to common cultural occurrences. It just might take a while to figure them out. Also, they are capable of many styles of music, each CD having quite a different sound and tone than its predecessor. If you hate them, that's fine, but at least have a reason why, rather than saying that they're songs are about nothing, because they are anything but.
They Might Be Giants have done a lot of work outside of producing records. They've written commercials for a few products including Coca-Cola and Diet Dr. Pepper. They have also written the theme song for The Daily Show With John Stewart, and Malcolm in the Middle, for which they won a grammy.
